Gardening Competition 2023
If you love gardening, whether your patch is colourful, super neat, or a wildlife haven, we’d love to see your photos. You could win a prize!
Have you been putting your green fingers to work?
The competition is open to any Connexus customer, whether you’re a tenant, in shared ownership or a leaseholder. And if you don’t have a large outdoor space, that’s okay – container displays and house plants are welcome too.
There are love2shop vouchers to be won in each of the four categories - £50 for the winner and £25 for the runner up.
It’s easy to enter, just take some pictures of your garden, container displays or house plants and use our online form below or post them to us at the addresses below before midday on 31 July 2023.

The categories

Best indoor garden
If you have lovingly cared for a window display or selection of house plants we'd love to hear from you. -
Best community garden
Do you have communal garden? And look after a garden that is shared by residents or a community group. This is your category to show us what you can do. -
Best individual garden
Does your garden help the environment? Are you using water butts to collect water? Is your garden bee friendly or you have a bug hotel? Show us the most imaginative use of pre-loved items you’ve made a home for in your garden. Have you taken on the challenge of growing your own fruit and veg? Perfect pruning? Flawless lawn? Colour-coordinated border? Let’s see them! -
Young gardener award
This category is only open to young people under 16 years of age. Send photos of best garden, container, bug hotel, fairy gardens, potted plant, fruit and veg patch or tallest sunflower anything grown or created by a young gardener.
The rules

The photographs must be from a Connexus customer’s home.

Open to tenants, shared owners and leaseholders

Tenants must enter themselves, or their children/grandkids.

Open to all no matter of pending disputes or rent arrears. All welcome.

Photographs must have been received by Connexus before midday on 31 July 2023.

Judging will be done by an independent panel including customers from the photographs supplied

Prizes will be given at the winners’ homes where we will take our own photographs (although you don’t need to be in the photographs)

Remember to include your name, address, and a contact telephone number or email address plus the category you are entering.

Enter the gardening competition below

Don’t try to get all of your garden in one photo – take a few photos that give us the best view, including close-ups of your best plants and hanging baskets etc.

Choose a plain or light background if possible – and make sure there isn’t too much clutter in the background to distract from the plants

Early morning or late evening is best for taking photos as the light is better and there are fewer shadows. Overcast days might make the colours pop more though!

Try different angles. If you can crouch down and take the picture at the same level as the flower or plant this might make for a better photograph.

Make sure your photos are in focus and not blurry.
