Connexus are delighted to be working in partnership with Pickstock Homes to build 38 homes for independent living near the town centre of Oswestry.
Llewellin House will consist of 33 two-bedroomed apartments suitable for three people and 5 one-bedroomed, 2-person apartments. These new homes are due to be completed in early 2022.
Within the grounds of Llewellin House, there will be a community room for all of the residents to enjoy. The community room will include a communal kitchen to help cater for the social events that will be held throughout the year.
Landscaped communal grounds wrap around the building, which will give residents the ability to walk around and enjoy the outdoors.
Residents will be able to use the communal greenhouse to grow their fruit and vegetables and participate in some friendly competition to see who can grow the largest produce
The story behind the name
Llewellin House is named after Philip Llewellin (23 October 1940 – 1 July 2005), a British journalist and writer born in Oswestry.
Philip attended Oswestry School and Wycliffe College and went on to work as a journalist for the Oswestry and Border Counties Advertiser and Shrewsbury Chronicle.
In 1969 he became a freelance writer. His work focused on his passion for cars and motoring working for publications including The Observer, Car Magazine, the Daily Telegraph, Truck magazine, The Independent, Car & Driver, and Automobile Magazine.
Llewellin was described as "one of the best motoring writers, if not the best, of the past four decades."

We promote choice and individual control over decisions while giving reassurance about safety and security. We help customers to find services for additional support with everyday tasks.
Our Independent Living team are based on-site during the working week and help support customers with:
- Wellbeing daily calls
- Dealing with emergencies and calling for appropriate help
- Giving advice and information
- Helping customers to arrange social events
- Reporting repairs and making sure the scheme is well maintained and clean
- Looking after the communal facilities
- Health & Safety checks to buildings and communal areas
