Mayor marks opening of new affordable homes at Tudor Way
Connexus has officially opened a new affordable housing development in Ludlow, providing 21 much-needed homes for local people. The Tudor Way development delivers a mix of social rent and shared ownership housing, and includes a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Last week Connexus welcomed partners, local representatives and stakeholders to the development for an official opening event and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Guests included the Mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Diane Lyle, Councillor Stacey Harris of Ludlow Town Council, representatives from Homes England, Shropshire Council and TC Homes, alongside Connexus Board members and colleagues involved in delivering the scheme.
The development has been delivered through partnership working between Connexus, Homes England, Shropshire Council and TC Homes. Homes England provided £1.5 million of funding through the Affordable Homes Programme, while Shropshire Council supported the scheme with £260,000 from its Section 106 contributions fund. Homes at Tudor Way include a range of energy-efficient features, including photovoltaic solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, helping residents reduce energy use and supporting Connexus' wider sustainability ambitions.
Opening the development, the Mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Diane Lyle, said: "It is a privilege and a pleasure to open this new development. The collaborative work between Connexus and its partners has created these beautiful new homes, and I am sure the people living here will take great pride in them while helping to foster a strong sense of community in this part of Ludlow."

Tudor Way forms part of Connexus' ongoing investment in Ludlow and sits alongside wider regeneration and refurbishment work being carried out nearby at Sandpits Avenue. The development also supports the organisation's Corporate Plan and Rural Voice campaigning priorities by helping meet local housing need, supporting mixed communities and demonstrating the value of partnership working in rural areas.
Residents are expected to begin moving into the new homes over the coming weeks.
