Connexus is putting colleague development at the heart of its customer service improvement work through a new partnership with training provider PfP Thrive.

PfP Thrive will help deliver Customer First, a new long-term programme designed to embed Connexus' Skills and Behaviour Framework and create a more consistent approach to customer service across the business. Developed using feedback from colleagues and customers, the framework establishes clear standards for how colleagues work and supports the organisation's ambition to improve customer outcomes and meet rising customer expectations.

The collaboration will also support Connexus in meeting new competence and conduct standards being introduced across the social housing sector. The standards are designed to improve the quality of social housing services and require senior housing professionals to hold, or be working towards, recognised Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) qualifications.

To support the launch of the partnership, a group of Connexus senior leaders and colleagues recently visited PfP Thrive's state-of-the-art learning centre in Derby to explore the facilities and find out more about the training opportunities available. The visit included a tour of specialist learning environments designed to help develop both technical and customer-facing skills.

Kate Smith, Chief Executive at Connexus, said: “Providing safe, good-quality services in our rural communities depends on our colleagues having the right skills, confidence and support to deliver the consistent, high-quality service our customers expect.

“Our partnership with PfP Thrive will help us strengthen professional development across the organisation, support compliance with new sector standards and build the capability we need as we develop skills for today and tomorrow through our Connexus People Strategy.”

Director of PfP Thrive Tom Arey said: "As the social housing sector continues to evolve, investing in skills and professional development has never been more important, and we are delighted to welcome Connexus as our latest partner.

“Our expert-led training, apprenticeships and accredited programmes are designed to help the housing and construction sectors build capability, meet regulatory requirements and deliver exceptional outcomes for customers and communities. We look forward to supporting Connexus on its Customer First journey and working together to develop the skills and talent that will underpin its future success."
