Connexus has donated £3,000 to Shropshire PCAS (Person Centred Advocacy and Support), helping the charity continue its work supporting disabled and vulnerable adults across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

The charity provides free, independent advocacy services, helping people maintain their independence and access support with issues including housing, health, social care, safeguarding and financial difficulties.

Based in Oswestry, Shropshire PCAS supports disabled adults across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, often helping people with complex needs who have little or no other support network. Advocates work directly with clients in their own homes, providing practical support and helping them access services and make informed choices about their lives.

Recently, Nick Batt, Chief Operating Officer from Connexus, recently visited the charity's Oswestry base to present the donation and hear more about its work.

Nick Batt, Chief Operating Officer at Connexus, said:

"It was a privilege to visit Shropshire PCAS and hear first-hand about the difference the charity makes to people's lives.

"Many of the people they support face multiple challenges and can often feel isolated or overwhelmed. Their advocates provide practical help, reassurance and a trusted voice, enabling people to maintain their independence and access the support they need.

"As a housing association, we understand that helping people thrive is about more than bricks and mortar. Organisations like PCAS play a vital role in supporting vulnerable people across our communities and we're proud to support their work."

Simon Arthur, Manager at Shropshire PCAS, said: "We would like to thank Connexus for this generous donation. It will help us continue delivering vital advocacy services to disabled and vulnerable people across Shropshire's rural communities, where access to support can often be more difficult and isolation can be a significant challenge."

The charity has supported thousands of people over more than 30 years and continues to provide a lifeline for disabled and vulnerable adults across the county. Its advocates help people navigate a wide range of challenges, including housing concerns, benefits, health and social care, helping them live independently and remain connected to their communities.

Connexus supports a range of community organisations across Shropshire and Herefordshire as part of its commitment to strengthening local communities and helping people thrive.
