Connexus appoints new chief executive
Connexus is delighted to announce that its new chief executive will be Kate Smith who will join the organisation in late January 2024.
Kate comes with a wealth of experience gained from 15 years at executive level in the social housing sector, with organisations of scale, complexity and ambition. Kate has been in her current role as group executive director of business services at Anchor - England’s largest provider of specialist housing and care for people in later life – for five years.
Kate's current executive responsibility includes people, technology and change, corporate governance, company secretariat, legal, risk, procurement, pensions, communications and marketing. She is currently a non-executive director for Southern Housing Group (previously Optivo) on their Pensions Committee, and has held non-executive positions with Moggerhanger Park Ltd and Thrive Homes Ltd, completing the Board Apprentice Programme at JPMorgan Income and Capital Trust.
Kate joins at an exciting time for Connexus as it continues to embed the changes necessary to make its corporate plan – “good quality affordable homes for all” - a reality.
In the interim operations director Sara Woodall will be in place as acting chief executive from mid-November until Kate arrives.
