Richard Woolley is to leave Connexus later this year after 14 years with the organisation.

Having been chief executive since 2019, Richard has added stability and has overseen a number of improvements. This included steering the business through the pandemic and achieving the highest possible rating for Governance from the Regulator of Social Housing in 2022.

Reflecting on his time at Connexus, Richard said: “It has been an honour and a privilege to work alongside some amazing people and to see, year on year, how the Connexus team have worked with each other to bring the organisation together: making some fundamental changes for the benefit of our customers.

“I am so proud of all that we have worked so hard to achieve. I am confident that Connexus has a great future ahead, delivering good quality affordable homes for all."

Chair of Connexus’ board Michele Ibbs said: “I would like to thank Richard for all his hard work and dedication to Connexus, its ‘forebears’ and the social housing sector generally, and wish him well for his future.“

The board will now seek to recruit a new chief executive over the coming months to take Connexus forward on the next stage of its journey delivering the 2023-26 corporate plan. Richard will be working alongside the executive team and board to ensure the transition of its leadership is as smooth as possible.
