Connexus has launched a new long service awards scheme to recognise colleagues who have dedicated their careers to supporting customers and rural communities across Herefordshire and Shropshire.

To celebrate the launch, colleagues who had reached more than 25 years of service with the organisation were invited to a special celebration. The event recognised a combined total of 683 years of service, with individual commitments of up to 46 years. Awards were presented to colleagues by chief executive Kate Smith.

The new awards scheme was introduced following feedback from a recent colleague engagement survey, where the importance of recognition and celebrating key service milestones was highlighted. The scheme also aligns with the organisation’s People Strategy, and aims to acknowledge the dedication, loyalty and impact of colleagues who have committed many years to supporting Connexus, its customers and communities.

Connexus Chief Executive Kate Smith said: “I’m incredibly proud of colleagues who are celebrating service milestones and of the experiences and commitment they bring to Connexus. Our long service awards are a meaningful way to recognise the dedication, loyalty and impact of those who have spent many years supporting our organisation and rural communities. Their long service reflects both personal commitment and a lasting contribution to Connexus.”

As well as presentations to mark colleague milestones, the event also provided an opportunity for colleagues to share memories and experiences - reflecting on the people, challenges and achievements that have helped shape their careers.
