Applied gardening skills course offers green-fingered career opportunities

Have you been thinking about starting a new career? Or perhaps you just have green fingers and a passion for gardening? If the answer to either of those questions was a resounding "yes", then the Applied Gardening Skills course from the Big Skill and Herefordshire Carers could be for you. 

Big Skill & Herefordshire Carers will kickstart this project on Tuesday 6th September at Putson Community Centre, Hereford. The course is free (a £20 deposit is required to book your place but is refundable on completion of the course) and runs for 6 weeks. Each day of the course is split into two sessions, with the morning session (starting at 10:30am) focusing on theory, followed by some practical experience outdoors in the afternoon. Participants who are not interested in the qualification bt would still like to get outdoors are welcome to join the course for the afternoon session only.

The Applied Skills Gardening Course offers you the chance to:

  • Enhance your CV and gain work experience 
  • Learn new skills
  • Socialise
  • Join a community gardening team

The Applied Gardening Skills course is accredited by Agored Cymru and participants completing the course will receive a qualification. This Connexus-funded course is part of the Care & Share working partnership with HVOSS (Herefordshire Voluntary Organisations Support Service), Big Skill and Herefordshire Carers.
