Grain Loft

The Grain Loft consists of 8 x two bedroomed Shared Apartments
Eligible Applicants
- Single persons aged 18-55 with low level support needs
- Able to live in a shared housing environment
Criteria of your acceptance
If you are not in paid employment or have financial means to live you should be in receipt of Benefits or be willing to apply for benefits immediately at the start of your licence agreement evidence of this will be sought at the referral or interview stage.
You must be capable and willing to engage with the foyer service which will include regular keyworker sessions and progression meetings where a support and pathway plan will be agreed and reviewed at regular intervals.
Failure to progress an agreed support plan due to non-engagement may lead to having your licence agreement terminated as you must remember that your placement at the Grain Loft is part of conditional offer which includes a support package to enable you to move on successfully gaining important help and skills along the way.
There may be occasions where you need support from outside agencies such as the community mental health team, probation services, Addaction and Shropshire Domestic abuse service (this list is not exhaustive) you should be willing to work with other agencies if deemed necessary to enable us to continue to support you at The Grain Loft.
Due to the nature of the service a risk assessment will be compiled to determine any risks and underlying needs you may have, this will be reviewed and updated regularly between you and your keyworker, this is to ensure we can provide a safe environment for you, all other service users, colleagues and visitors.
Your landlord is Connexus Homes Limited. Weekly rent and service charge are your responsibility. Rent arrears which accrue will not be tolerated and you will be served notice through the Association and in line with the Rent Arrears Policy.
The Applicant is outside the age range.
The Applicant has previously demonstrated high risk behaviour whilst being in Shared accommodation.
The Applicants support needs are deemed too high.
The Applicants risk assessment indicates a significant risk to staff, service users or other visitors.
The applicant does not have recourse to public funds, unless alternative funding is identified prior to acceptance.
The Applicant is in high rent arrears from a previous tenancy that they are not willing to pay.
A member of the foyer team will provide with Information of the appeal process.
The Association operates an appeal process
Should any unsuccessful applicant wish to appeal against the decision, the appeal must be made in Writing to:
